An Intermediate with a Focus Survey award is given to facilities that, it is estimated, are able to address remaining deficiencies in the form of non-compliant or partially-compliant criteria in three to six months. A Focus Survey is then conducted at the facility to determine whether these remaining criteria are compliant. In theory, a facility that is awarded an Intermediate with Focus Survey is one that is extremely close to being accredited, barring a few areas.
